BBIS has an opening for a Live-in Boarding Mentor (f/m/d)
Worktime model: 20 hours/week, initially fixed rota (Thu–Sat)

Location: BBIS Boarding School, BBIS Campus, Kleinmachnow (near Berlin), on-site housing available
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES
You will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive “home away from home” for boarding students, working closely with the Head of Boarding and a small, international team.
- Supervise and mentor a group of 5–8 boarding students during morning, evening and weekend shifts
- Plan and lead activities, local excursions and support orientation for new boarders
- Ensure safety, behaviour and wellbeing of students while on duty, including overnight supervision
- Communicate regularly with parents, teaching staff and the Head of Boarding regarding student progress and welfare
- Maintain accurate records and reports using REACH and other digital tools

- Offer of a furnished on-site staff apartment in the Boarding School, eliminating commute and embedding everyday life in the community
- Defined 20h roster across three days, leaving extended time blocks on other weekdays for study, projects or family duties

YOUR QUALIFICATION
We are looking for candidates who bring relevant experience and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in for example social work, education, teaching, pedagogy, psychology, youth work and other
- Experience working with adolescents in residential, boarding or youth-care settings (min. 6–12 months)
- Confident English Language Competency; German helpful but not required
- Valid driving licence (manual transmission, category B or equivalent)
- Willingness to initially work a fixed Thursday–Saturday rota, including overnight duty until further notice, as shift schedules may also change in the medium term.
- You are empathetic, reliable and enjoy working in a multicultural team. You set clear boundaries, communicate with care, and are committed to student wellbeing, inclusion and anti-racism.
- Experience with REACH or iSAMS is a plus, but not required—training is provided

- Proof of immunity against measles, which must have been confirmed by a doctor if you were born after 1970. Alternatively, a medical certificate of medical contraindication can be provided
- The original certificate of the highest obtained (university) degree
- An extended certificate of conduct that must not be older than six months
