BBIS has an opening for a TENTATIVE - English Acquisition (EAL) Teacher: Individualized Student Support (Grade 9) (f/m/d).

Start: 01.08.2025 
Limited initially until 31.07.2026
Part-Time: 22.5 teaching hours per week (30 working hours)


Position Overview:
The EAL Teacher will provide individualized, targeted English language acquisition support to a Grade 9 student. The teacher will develop and implement personalized learning plans aligned with the student’s language proficiency needs, academic requirements, and school curriculum expectations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES
  • Assess the student’s English language proficiency and academic needs.
  • Design and deliver individualized instruction focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Collaborate with subject teachers to support language development across the curriculum.
  • Differentiate materials and learning activities to ensure accessibility and engagement.
  • Monitor and document the student’s progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Provide regular feedback to the student, parents, and relevant school staff.
  • Support the student’s integration into mainstream classes as language skills develop.
  • Contribute to the student’s Individual Learning Plan or similar documentation if applicable.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and participate in relevant team meetings.
YOUR QUALIFICATION
  • Possess a recognized teaching qualification (QTS).
  • Certification in teaching English Acquisition, preferably at Masters level.
  • A minimum of 2-years teaching experience, preferably in an IB context (MYP).
  • Excellent cross-cultural interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
  • A strong commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of all children and young people.

Important: Before beginning the employment at BBIS, the following documents must be submitted:
  • Proof of immunity against measles, which must have been confirmed by a doctor if you were born after 1970. Alternatively, a medical certificate of medical contraindication can be provided.
  • The original certificate of the highest obtained (university) degree
  • An extended certificate of conduct that must not be older than six months.
These documents are required to comply with legal and internal employment regulations.
