BBIS has an opening for a MYP/DP English Language and Literature Teacher (f/m/d)

Location: Kleinmachnow (Berlin region)
Contract type: Full-time (30 teaching units per week / 40 working hours per week)
Start date: 1st. August 2026
Limited initially until 31st July 2028
Vacation: 60 days per year, taken during school holidays 
Salary range: €55,059 - €61,884.91 gross/year (based on experience/classification) plus annual CPI-based adjustments / potential responsibility stipends


About this role: 
We are seeking an innovative, connected, and proactive professional who has a passion for English Language and Literature Analysis. You will teach students from grade 6 to 12, providing inquiry-based and conceptually driven instruction while fostering student confidence and well-being.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES
  • Teaching: Deliver IB Diploma (SL/HL) and MYP English Language & Literature (Grades 6-12).
  • Curriculum: Develop inquiry-based and conceptually driven curriculum units.
  • Student Support: Supervise the Personal Project and Extended Essay (EE) and commit to a homeroom/advisor role.
  • Innovation: Utilize technology effectively within teaching and learning to optimize student outcomes.
  • Environment: Create a safe, secure, and stimulating environment in accordance with BBIS’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
  • School Life: Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities programme.
YOUR QUALIFICATION
  • Certification: Teaching certification, preferably with a Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Ideally a minimum of 2 years of full classroom responsibility in MYP/DP or similar frameworks (AP, A-Level, IGCSE); experience in international schools is preferred.
  • Experience teaching English Literature and Analysis (not English Acquisition).
  • Mindset: Strong belief that all students can succeed; commitment to the IB Learner Profile attributes and providing equitable access for all students.
  • Skills: Ability to teach across a diverse range of abilities and learning needs using inclusive differentiation and varied instructional models.
  • Personal Traits: Team player who is flexible, resilient, and a risk-taker with a positive growth mind-set.
  • Communication: Outstanding written and spoken English; excellent references indicating a passion for teaching.
